Changes in the process of applying for Turkish Citizenship by Investment:
The beginning of the year 2024 witnessed significant amendments to the process of acquiring Turkish Citizenship by Investment.
Starting on January 2, 2024, new amendments to the process of obtaining Turkish Citizenship by Investment came into effect. Here are the major updates:
- Starting from the mentioned date, main applicants (the investor and their spouse) are now required, in addition to the previously requested documents, to submit a certified criminal record (Police Certificate) from their home country (or from the passport country they will use for citizenship application).
- In the past, obtaining a residence permit (for the investor) was a requirement only for the main applicant. However, now it is also necessary for the investor’s spouse to obtain a residence permit.
- Previously, applying for the investor’s residence permit did not require the applicant to provide fingerprints. However, now both the spouse and the investor must be present in Turkey to provide their fingerprints for obtaining this residence permit.
- Lastly, all adult applicants for Turkish Citizenship by Investment must now personally attend the application process, providing fingerprints and photos when applying for it. This means their presence is mandatory during the application.
The new requiremnts for obtaining Turkish Citizenship by Investment:
In summary, the procedures for obtaining Turkish Citizenship by Investment now require the following:
- A copy of a valid passport translated into the Turkish language for all applicants.
- A certified and translated birth certificate into the Turkish language for all applicants.
- Investor’s Residence Permit: Both the investor and their spouse must be present during the application, and fingerprints will be taken.
- A certified and translated Police Certificate from the home country for both the spouse and the investor.
- Conformity Certificate (according to the chosen investment method for obtaining citizenship).
- Finally, personal attendance for all adult applicants during the application for Turkish Citizenship by Investment to provide fingerprints and photos.
