Grenada recasts its platform to attract more domestic support
Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, has announced the renaming of the country’s Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBI) office to the Investment Migration Agency Grenada. This move aims to change local perceptions about the immigration industry and attract more local support for it.
This came at a ceremony held at the Royalton Hotel in London on March 20, in honor of this occasion. Which he said “Migration is a natural part of humankind’s existence, and as small islands, it is really upon us to benefit as much as we can from the migration of persons, whether temporarily or permanently.”
Investment Migration Agency Grenada to increase local support:
Mitchell expressed hope that the unit’s rebranding would increase Grenada’s citizen support for the immigration industry, which contributed EC$ 456 million in 2023. He stressed the importance of citizen participation in the industry, saying: “If we do not get our population to own and support and defend this industry, it will be quite easy for those who wish to see its demise to do so.”
Grenada considered it time for a new name to better reflect the identity and goals of the immigration industry, after ten years when the program began, Thomas Anthony, chief executive of the CBI unit, stated that the current brand “The current brand mark has inherent limitations in terms of how it may be used for different merchandise.”
