3 CBI countries can now travel visa free to Canada by getting eTA.
The eTA to Canada is an electronic travel authorization granted to every foreign citizen who is exempt from a travel visa under specific conditions. The Minister of Immigration and Expatriates in Canada issued a statement on 7th of June 2023, that 13 countries were added to the electronic travel authorization program, including Antigua and Barbuda St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Lucia .
This statement is considered a positive point for citizenship by investment programs in Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Lucia, which means increased confidence in citizenship by investment programs in the Caribbean region by the Government of Canada, especially after the loss of Antigua and Barbuda And St. Kitts the advantage of entry to Canada without a visa in 2017. Obtaining this permit again crowns success for the efforts of the Caribbean region to allow entry to Canada without a visa, thus gaining a new strength in the passport of these three countries.
In a statement yesterday, Minister Fraser stressed the importance of this decision in strengthening relations with the thirteen new countries, as it enhances tourism and the economic benefit to the Canadian state.
Where citizens of these countries who obtained a Canada visa during the last 10 years, or holders of a non-immigrant visa to the United States of America, can apply for an eTA Canada, and obtain an entry permit to Canada within minutes.
The permit is valid for 5 years or until the passport expires. This permit allows entry to Canada for 6 months at a time.
